Patricia Smith of the Palestine Monitor reports:

Photojournalist, Imad Subhi Abu Zahra died early this morning after being shot yesterday. . . Doctors who treated Imad, who was clearly identified as press, said he had been shot with an exploding bullet in the leg. Another journalist who was standing nest to Imad, Saed Ad-Dahley, was also injured in the shooting attack.The shooting…was aired on television, and it was clear for all to see that first aid was prevented from reaching him, as the soldiers continued to shoot at the group of people, and vehicles attempting to reach the scene.

The market closed today with the Dow Jones Industrial Average at 8639. On Sept 26,2001, it was almost exactly the same. The selloffs continue apace.

Back on Sept 26, (when I was asking “How deep a hole?”),I predicted the market could go to 7000 before the market turned around for good. I think I'll adjust that slightly upward for now, to around 7500– though I sure hope I'm wrong, and it bounces sooner.
