Death by latency

So, I think I've discovered the culprit in my network problems: My frigging Airport has the latency of parcel post. At least that's as best as I can tell based on my limited testing; I hooked up my Powerbook to a free net port on my DSL router, and tried connecting to the web server behind the AirPort's firewall (I mapped port 80 to it). And….nothing happened. “Connection Failure”. I tried again. I got a page…and it loaded like molasses in Antarctica.

So I guess I have to have a word with the fine folks at Apple again. “Familarity breeds contempt,” indeed.
