The Point-and-Shoot is Dead

 

Getting ready to head out in the snow, and choosing between a video camera or a digital point-and-shoot? Don’t bother with either. I have come not to praise the digital point-and-shoot camera or handheld video camera, but to bury them.

The relatively inexpensive digital camera introduced millions to the era of digital photography, for sure. But the days when it made sense to buy one have passed, even for the most avid amateur.  And cell phones are largely responsible for that.
